Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - More than 5,700 or 38 percent of all registered companies in Montenegro were incapable of servicing their debts in 2001, the Payment Office of the Central Bank of Montenegro (SPP CBCG) said on Wednesday. Around 2,700 enterprises had their accounts blocked as per December 31 and their total outstanding liabilities stood at around 44,000 German marks. The Payment Office filed requests to the Commercial Court to initiate receivership procedures against 2,500 enterprises whose total outstanding liabilities stood at 36,000 German marks.
