Nikšiæ, (Montena-business) – About 73% of workers employed in the educational sector in Niksic joined today the general strike of the educational workers from whole Montenegro, with demands for changing the collective contract and payment of delayed salaries. The president of the Educational CITUM from Niksic, Andrija Markovic told to Montena-business that the strike would last until the request is fulfilled. “The classes’ duration was reduced from 45 to 30 minutes. The protest started at 17 primary schools and 4 middle schools, and at the Workers University” claims Markovic. According to Markovic, the general strike of educational workers has no political background and it was provoked by the bad material status of employed in educational sector, which was not solved after several unsuccessful negotiations with the Ministry of Education. rm/bd
