Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - The Public Revenue Office (DJP) plans to start organising in June a monthly lottery for citizens who collect tax receipts after paying for goods and services, director of DJP Predrag Markovic said. Any owner of one or more tax receipts amounting to more than one euro would qualify for the game. The lottery and the drawing of the winners are likely to be held on the first day in a calendar month. Tax receipts contain a number, the name of a tax payer, identification number, the time and date of issuing, the list of goods and services paid, a tax base and a tax rate, the amount of the tax and the total amount. DJP introduced 7,460 of 7,500 planned cash registers since the beginning of 2001 with an aim to improve control of income of tax payers and the payment of the tax. The introduction of cash registers was planned to improve budget income for the state. "Since August 1 last year, when the campaign on clamping down the black economy started, until the end of 2001, revenues rose 43 percent on the same period in 2000. Since the beginning of this year, gross revenues rose 15 percent on the same period last year," Markovic said.
