Alteration of regulations needed for import prohibition

Alteration of regulations needed for import prohibition
The Customs Administration of Montenegro stated today that prohibition of import of fishing boats requested by Association of Professional Fishermen was impossible unless regulations in this field were changed. The Association is of the opinion that the import of Italian fishing boat Andreina Madre that sailed into the Port of Bar at the beginning of August would endanger the fish and fishing in Montenegro. Representatives of the Association said on Tuesday that the Customs Administration refused the request of Montenegrin minister of agriculture, Milutin Simovic, on stopping of importing procedure for this ship with explanation that all ships up to 250 GRT were on free import list. The Customs Administration stated it shared the anxiety of the Association, but it could not meet its request unless Government#s Decree on foreign trade and Decision on classification of goods by forms of import and export were changed. It was announced that the Ministry of trade and Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water management would prepare proposal for alterations of these regulations and direct it to the Government.
