Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Association of Montenegrin Municipalities said on Tuesday it would take all needed measures to develop democracy at a local level, in line with the declaration adopted at the 9th Economic Forum of Cities and Regions of Southeast Europe held in Novi Sad on April 18-20. The declaration says that local and regional governments in southeast Europe have been facing economic difficulties and that any economic development required their greater efficiency. The declaration said that the European Union and the Ministerial Committee of the Council of Europe needed to earmark more money for the development of democracy at a local level in Serbia and Montenegro.
