Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) -The Association of Private Pharmacists rejected on Wednesday accusations of former health minister Zarko Micovic that they were smuggling drugs and illegally obtaining them from state pharmacies. The association challenged Micovic#s statement to the constitutional court which also said that nine out of ten drugs supplied to state pharmacies ended up in private pharmacies and that patients had no use for prescriptions because they could never find the medicines in state pharmacies. The association said drug producers were working at full capacity and that supply of domestic and foreign drugs had improved. It said they were able to obtain drugs from drug producers at factory prices and on credit and there was no need "for private pharmacies to purchase their drugs illegaly".
