August retail prices 2.7% higher
Retail prices in Montenegro in August were 2.7% higher than in July, stated the Republic Institution for statistics. Cumulative rate of growth of retail prices for the period January – August, when compared with the same period last year was 21.3% higher. Rate of growth of retail prices in comparison with August last year is 24.8% higher and in comparison with December, 17.3%. The greatest increase in prices was in industrial – food products – 7.8%, services 1.1% and beverages for 0.5%, while prices of agricultural products were 1.6% lower. Prices of industrial – food products was increased because of the rise in prices of fresh milk for 33%, bread and bakery products for 22.3%, flour 17.7%, sugar and rice 1.5%, fresh meat 1.3%, processed and conserved meat for 0.8%. The prices of other products in this group remained at last month’s level. Prices of services are higher due to increase in prices of artisan services for 7.5%, financial for 3.4%, education 2.6%, municipal 2.5% and personal services for 1.9%. Index of industrial products is 3.5% higher because of higher prices of industrial – food products for 7.8%, while prices of industrial – non-food products remained at last month’s level.
