Montenegro needs 15 more years for entrance in the European Union, since now it is at the beginning of social and economic changes that take reform-making Government and public. This is the conclusion of the tribune of the network of non-Governmental organizations #Akcija#.
"Montenegro has received 850 million DEM for instigation of the reforms since 1887, but that money has obviously not been used in the proper way," says the analyst of the Centre for democracy and human rights, Rade Bojovic.
At the tribune organized last night in Niksic, he said that priority of the reforms should be change of legislative in order to make citizen the centre of political power, not political party or coalition and that changes must include judicature, police and public services.
"During 12 years of the rule of strong partytocracy, we have became hostages of political parties and coalitions," said Bojovic.
Reforms in Montenegro, according to the director of the Centre for transition, Nebojsa Medojevic, must include the liberalisation of foreign trade, regime or prices, macro-economic stabilization, reform of the banking, pension and fiscal system.
He said that economic and social issues were often neglected in Montenegro, because of "politisation".
"We still have a blind confidence of citizens into political parties which is why economic situation is often neglected before elections, and the situation is such that only 20 percents of citizens can manage to satisfy their elementary needs," claims Medojevic and added that citizens never ask their leaders during electoral campaign what they had done in their previous mandate.
