Borovic proposes merger of two Montenegrin stock exchanges
Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - Director of the Montenegro Stock Exchange Milasin Borovic said on Sunday that he would propose to the managing board a merger of this financial institution with the new NEX Montenegro stock exchange. Borovic said it was a paradox for Montenegro to have two bourses and that merging the two markets into a single financial market would be the best. If the proposal is accepted by the managing board, it would be taken to the representatives of the NEX Montenegro bourse. Mina-business could not find out how the NEX Montenegro reacted to the proposal since its manager Mladen Bojanic was abroad. Unlike the Montenegro Stock Exchange, founded in the 1990s, the NEX Montenegro was set up in 2001. The Montenegro bourse had a 127,000 euro turnover in April or six times less than in March. The NEX Montenegro had in April turnover 198,000 euros or ten times less than in March.
