Beograd, (Montena – business) –Electro Company from Bulgaria (ECB) warned Monday 7 January Electro-Energetic Coordination Centre (ECC) that it will leave the system of interconnection because of big debts of Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.
ECB sent a letter of protest in which this Bulgarian Electro Company warned that it would step off the interconnection system because of the illegal taking of electricity that created a low electrical frequency, and appealed on solving the situation.
ECC warns that if Bulgaria steps off the system it will destroy the whole interconnection system, because that country is the biggest exporter of electrical energy.
ECC, which is placed in Belgrade, coordinates the work of electro energetic systems of Republika Srpska, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Albania.
In the protest letter, ECB emphasises that the biggest debtor is Montenegro, and then Macedonia and Albania, which took illegally big quantities of electrical energy during last year.
The Electro Company from Romania sent a protest letter last year because of illegal taking of electricity by Elektroprivreda Montenegro.
As ECC announced, at the negotiations that will start in Belgrade at 15 January will be representatives of all electro companies from Balkan countries that are members of ECC. The topic of this meeting will be solving the problem of some countries’ debts, caused by illegal taking of electricity; and also creation of a platform for this year’s normalising of the work in the system of interconnection.
