Chinese interested in investing in "Obod" and electro-energetic capacities

Chinese interested in investing in
Chinese company Haier that produces domestic appliances is interested in investing in firm "Obod" from Cetinje, so that they could appear together on the world market, has been announced today in the ministry of foreign affairs. "We have only made a general agreement with representatives of "Haier", but it can be considered as very important the fact that they are interested in the joint production of domestic appliances that are latter to be exported to a third market. During the next week Ministry will inform representatives of Obod that this Chinese firm is interested in investing in their company", said Minster of foreign affairs assistant Milan Begovic at today#s meeting with journalist. Delegation of this ministry, member of which, apart from Begovic, was also minister#s advisor Ramiz Basic, was staying in China from 31 January till 9 February. According to Begovic it was during this visit that Chinese businessmen showed interest in investing in Montenegro. He said that businessmen of Chinese province Gui-dzo announced possibility of investing in construction of new hydroelectric power plant in Montenegro, estimating that investing into electro energetic capacities was very profitable. "The Chinese businessmen have already offered Montenegrin Government some kind of initiative for investing into electro energetic system but we shall have more precise data after their visit that has been announced for spring this year. Investment bureau of this province proposed investing in number of capacities of light industry, that is in production of alcohol, batteries, plastic water pumps and bags", stated Begovic. According to him, the Chinese were of opinion that they could supply surrounding markets with this kind of products. They also considered it should be invested in Bar and establish cooperation with it since it had port and customs free zone for which they were very interested. Begovic added that the Chinese concluded that their priority was investing in the hydroelectric power stations, since electrical energy was problem in most of the world countries. That was why they considered this kind of investment might be very profitable. Begovic also said that the basic task of the Montenegrin Government was providing of conditions for foreign investors who wanted to invest in Montenegro and who would help reforms, the realization of which had already started.
