Citizens pay 29.2% of consumed electrical power because of the import
Electric-power economy of Montenegro imported electrical power worth more than 4 million DEM last month, and this amount the citizens should pay by the value of 29.2% of the worth of the total electric power, taxes not included. Head of the department for purchase and sale of electric power, Srdjan Kovacevic, said that average price of local electricity was always the same and it was 0.0244 DEM per kWh. He also explained in details this very complicated and for ordinary citizen very knotty method for establishing this percentage. "Average price of imported electricity last month was 0.0620. When the price of local electricity is subtracted from the price of imported electricity, the resulting difference is multiplied with the amount of imported kilowatt-hours. The total amount that is to be billed to households for the imported electricity derives from that calculation," explains Kovacevic. He said that the result for charging the imported electricity is equally shared on households by establishing a percentage that is to be added on the total amount of electricity. "The percentage is established after establishing the average price for households on the basis of the structure of consumption in the same month the year before and present price of electricity. Then the amount is multiplied with net consumption of kilowatt-hours and thus the realization on distribution network is obtained," explained Kovacevic. He said that the sum is then multiplied with the amount spent by great consumers of electricity, and the percentage is charged on that. The percentage is established by multiplying the total amount of imported electricity with 100 and then divided by realization on distribution network.
