Current and primary surpluses confirm strength of Montenegro's economy

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Finance, Montenegro has stable, secure and strong public finances, as evidenced by a current surplus of €43.75 million and a primary surplus of €55.2 million recorded in the first four months of the year.

The Ministry said that the first four months of the year were also marked by the continuation of a strong capital investment cycle through a capital budget worth €50.6 million.

“The budget results confirm that the Government is managing the economy responsibly, that revenues continue to grow, that all obligations to citizens are being met on time, and that the budget remains stable despite global economic challenges,” the Ministry said in a press release.

In just four months, budget revenues reached nearly €1 billion, amounting to €971.3 million, which is €73.8 million, or 8.2 percent, more than in the same period last year.

At the same time, revenues exceeded the plan by an additional €32.7 million, or 3.5 percent, further confirming fiscal stability and favourable economic trends.

“These results are the product of a responsible economic policy, a stable labour market, growing employment, stronger economic activity and significantly more efficient revenue collection,” the Ministry said.
