Dairy increased production in the last year
Dairy from Podgorica produced 14.5 million litres of milk and dairy products last year, of which more than 14.3 million litres were solved, which is 9 percents more than in the year 2000, said commercial director, Milic Bozovic. He said that daily production of the Dairy was 32,000 of pasteurised milk and 8,000 of litres of dairy products. The company recorded a deficit of about 362,000 DEM in the first half of the year because of the disparity in purchase and sale prices of milk, which had been reduced from October last year. “Retail price of the milk is 0.90 DEM per litre, and as of October last year, we have been paying 16 pfenigs per fat unit. At the moment, the loss is 4 – 5 pfenigs per litre of milk,” said Bozovic. He did not want to state last year’s financial results of the Dairy, explaining that they would be published after the completion of the annual accounts. Bozovic announced that the Dairy would soon start the production of a health-giving beverage made of milk that diabetics would be able too use, and as of spring, fruit yoghurt would be placed on the market. “At the moment, the Dairy produces pasteurised and sour milk, liquid and solid yoghurt, sour cream, butter for households and industry as well as 16 sorts of ice-cream,” said Bozovic.
