Water supply of Herceg-Novi has directed today to Constitutional Court of Montenegro a demand for investigating the constitutionality and legality of Government#s decision on foundation of the Public firm "Aqua region" and it has announced that municipal assembly will join the demand. Director of the firm Zoran Sabanovic estimated that the by reaching this decision the Government violated the Constitution and the law on property and local self-management since Municipal assembly of Herceg-Novi voted against the regional concept of water supplying. He explained that citizens of this town intended to organize referendum on this issue in order to protect their property reminding that it was in the same way they decided for construction of water supply from Plat to Herceg-Novi. "In case the Constitutional Court rejected the initiative of Water supply we plan to protect the municipal property by referendum. We have initiated with collecting the signature of 500 citizens since that number is enough for organizing of the municipal referendum", said Sabanovic. According to him, citizens of Herceg-Novi consider the objects they were giving money for for five years theirs and they want to vote on their future.
