Decision on sales tax on computers on Friday

Decision on sales tax on computers on Friday
The Government of Montenegro would decide on Friday whether the Regulation on sales tax of 3 percent for computers and accessory equipment would be prolonged till June 30, 2002, said deputy secretary of Secretariat for Development, Bozo Maric. The Government proclaimed last year as the year of Informatics# Culture, and for that purpose it had passed the Regulation on reduction of sales tax on computers and accessory equipment for natural persons from 24 onto 3 percents. This Regulation entered into force in June last year, so companies and buyers were able to use this privilege for six months only. At the beginning of this year, companies in computer sales requested prolongation of force of this regulation until June 30, 2002, and Secretariat for Development supported them. Afterwards, the Secretariat directed the request to the Ministry of finance and Government#s Commission for prolongation of this Regulation until regulation on VAT entered into force.
