Belgrade (MINA-BUSINESS) – Serbian Finance Minister Bozidar Djelic said that Montenegrin authorities had not been paying contributions to the federal budget for the repayment of frozen hard currency savings, Glas Javnosti daily reported. Commenting the decision by the federal Yugoslav parliament not to vote for a law on frozen savings, Djelic said the Serbian government would soon submit to republican parliament a similar bill, should there be no compromise at the federal level, because a public debt has been serviced by republican budgets anyway. He said a failure by the federal parliament to vote for the proposed law reflected unsettled relations between Serbia and Montenegro. The law on servicing frozen savings, declared as public debt, has been proposed by the National Bank of Yugoslavia, although republican budgets are to be in charge of debt servicing.
