Bar (MINA-BUSINESS) - Effects of a new development strategy in Montenegro have not yet been felt but it is evident that the process of the economic recovery has begun, Montenegro President Milo Djukanovic said during his Wednesday#s visit to the Port of Bar. He said he expected a new government to soon be formed, to focus more attention to development programmes in tourism, agriculture and shipping. He said the "entrepreneurial spirit of some people in Bar and the Port of Bar" was important because the town and the port represented a gate for Montenegro towards Europe. Director of the Port of Bar Petrasin Kasalica said average wages in the Port of Bar stood last year at 387 German marks and were 87 percent higher than the average for the republic, while in March, the average wage was 251 German marks. The expansion of a stone excavating site near the hill Volujica was important because the stone would likely be exported to Italy and Greece.
