Ministry of traffic of Montenegro will propose international arbitrage on estimating the value and ownership over the airports in Podgorica and Tivat, in case it did not reach the agreement on these issues with representatives of Serbian Government.
"If we reach the agreement on the joint managing and major ownership we are ready to accept independent estimation of the international arbitrage body", said minister of traffic assistant Milovan Djurickovic for Montena-business.
Major ownership over the airports in Tivat and Podgroica is according to him priority of Montenegro in negotiations with Serbian ministry of traffic and Yugoslav Air-transport (JAT).
Djurickovic did not want to comment the statements of the Serbian minister of traffic Marija Raseta Vukosavljevic that the Serbian Government does not agree with Montenegrin proposals on the joint managing the airports and major ownership, estimating that Montenegrin proposal should be officially responded to.
According to him, representatives of Serbian Government have not contested major ownership of Montenegro over these two airports in so far conducted negotiations and he also thinks that it should not be endangered.
"Montenegro does not want to usurp someone else#s property and it will respect every estimation that is proved and not the position of JAT. We have taken those negotiations as dialogue and our estimation on the value of the airports can be corrected but it has to be justified with arguments", considers Raickovic.
He explains that Montenegrin party does not demand to be the only proprietor of the airports and that its estimation on the value of these two airports is result of two years analyze.
During the last negotiations of the competent ministries held last Monday in Budva, Montenegrin delegation proposed the airports in Tiavt and Podgorica to be joint property of both republics and the public firm Airports of Montenegro to be their major proprietor.
Proprietor of the airport in Tivat is JAT, and the owner of the airport in Podgorica is Yugoslav army. Serbian Government asks form Montenegro to pay 38 million USD for both plane terminals and Montenegrin party estimated that their value is 4,5 million USD.
