Majority of schools in Niksic began their activities today, but with classes shortened on 25 minutes, states the Municipal Union of education.
President of this organization, Andrija Markovic, said for Montena-business that the classes began in all elementary schools except in "Braca Labudovic," whose union was to decide on continuance of work today.
"No classes have been organized in secondary schools today. The Grammar School and Electro-metallurgical School announced that they would start tomorrow with shortened classes, while members of the Union of Economic and Engineering School would decide tonight whether to suspend the decision on total stoppage of work," said Markovic.
Workers in education in Niksic did not begin the second semester of the school year on February 6, because the Government refused to increase their coefficients for 30 percents and because of solidarity with majority of colleagues from other Montenegrin towns.
With organization of shortened classes, the general strike that began on January 9, was continued in 17 elementary and four secondary schools as well as at the Workers# University, after a serial of unsuccessful negotiations between representatives of the employees and the Ministry of education.
