EPMN Will Continue With Restrictions

EPMN Will Continue With Restrictions
Niksic, (Montena-business)- The restrictions of electric energy will last, the Elektroprivreda Montenegro (EPMN) reported today, denying the news in Vijesti daily, which wrote that restrictions would be cancelled from today on. In a telephone conversation with a journalist of the Vijesti, general director of the EPMN, Slobodan Dakovic, didn’t announce that the restrictions would be cancelled, the EPMN’s report says. Dakovic said that the company had intensive contacts with the Romanian Electro Company about import of electric energy, the Report explained. “It would only improve our very serious energy situation to the better” the Report added. The EPMN announced regular reports on the electro energy situation in the Republic. “The company reported this on December, but that report didn’t get any place in the daily Vijesti” says the EPMN’s Report, adding that Dakovic’s announcement couldn’t produce such a title in the Vijesti. Today the electro energy situation is, as it was written in the Report, much worse than it was the last days. There is a serious increase of electricity use by all the consumers in the Republic, and also an increase of using electricity in neighbouring countries. “There is a real risk that all electro-systems will break down” the EPMN claimed. The Steel factory ‘Zeljezara’ in Niksic, which yesterday reduced the energy use by 60%, while the Aluminium Factory ‘KAP’ in Podgorica reduced energy use by 18%, saves the most energy, and the Distributions reduced energy use by 33%. Generally, the ‘Zeljezara’ saved by now about 20% of energy, the ‘KAP’ saved 10% of energy and the Distributions saved 9,5% of electric energy. Total electric consumption was reduced by 10,8% or 2,3 million kilowatt hours per day. The Hydro Electric Company ‘Perucica’ yesterday produced about 4 million kilowatt hours because of using the last supplies of water in the accumulations and new deviations towards other systems. “The EPMN emphasises again and warns that electric consumption should be reduced to available quantities” it is said in the Report, adding that increase of energy reductions depends on the citizen’s respect of the saving regime.
