The use of excise stamps, which would be applied for cigarettes, alcohol beverages, coffee and other imported products, would begin from Saturday, August 25, stated the Directorate for public income. Bojan Obrenovic, deputy director of Directorate, said that passing of appropriate regulations, which would precisely define the use of excise, that is, tax stamps was underway. When asked how much would be the flat-rate tax for sellers on open-market stalls, Obradovic said that it was defined by Regulation on conditions and methods of flat-rate taxation of taxpayers in individual business. "That Regulation establishes the basis for sale on open-market stalls, which is minimal gross wage increased for 200%. In case that it is an additional business for the sellers, 80% more is to be paid on that amount," said Obradovic. He said that on that basis, which was 531 DEM in July, tax on income, communal services and other duties - 129 DEM - are added. He also said that clothes, footwear, tools and handicraft can be sold in open-market stalls, which is regulated by the Regulation on kinds of goods that can be put on sale in open-markets and other sites.
