Expenses for education and culture 211.2% higher
Retail prices in July in Montenegro were 2.4% higher than in June, states the Republic institution for statistics in its regular report. The cumulative rate of growth for retail prices in period January – July, when compared with the same period last year was 20.9 % higher. The rate of growth of retail prices when compared with July last year is 23.4% higher and in comparison with December, 14.2% higher. Major increase in prices was in prices of services – 10.4%, then beverages 0.7%, industrial products 0.6% while prices of agricultural products fell for 0.3%. The price of services was increased due to the increase in prices of education and culture for 122.2%, which influenced the increase of index of retail prices. Other services remained at last month’s level. Prices of beverages were increased because of the increase in prices of spirits for 0.9% and non-alcoholic beverages for 0.4%. Index of industrial products is higher for 0.6% due to increase in prices of industrial food products for 0.9% and industrial non-food products for 0.2%. Prices of hygiene products were increased for 0.7%, construction materials for 0.7%, cutlery 0.6%, household products 0.5%, electrical equipment for household 0.4%, footwear for 0.3% and medications and clothes for 0.2%. Industrial food products are 0.9% higher because of the increase in price of flour for 7.4%, pastry 1.4%, fresh meat for 0.7%, processed and conserved vegetables for 0.5%, meat for 0.5%, fruit for 0.2% and sugar for 0.7%.
