Podgorica, (Montena-business) - Those citizens of Montenegro, whose labour rights are violated, by today can use the free service of the CITUM lawyer’s office, which will be financed by the Italian Trade Union’s Institute Progetto Sud-UIL.
The representatives of the CITUM’s and Italian Institute today signed a contract on Creation of a Network of Law Advising Centres in Montenegro. The contract predicts that Italians next year will provide about DEM 250,000 for this project.
The president of the CITUM, Danilo Popovic, said that law services will be offered by Sonja and Vesna Cejovic, lawyers in Bar. Popovic added that the Union’s members and social groups whose labour rights were violated could use these services.
“The office will start to work in two shifts by the end of March, and for the next year it is planned to open such offices in Bijelo Polje and Bar” said Popovic.
“After the Law on collective labour was cancelled, the cases related to labour were handled bad in regular court procedures, because Montenegrin lawyers were not interested in this kind of law” claims Popovic.
The president of the Italian Institute, Bruno Bruni said that the same amount of money also was appointed for opening the Law centre in Serbia.
“Labour rights are the most important human rights. Every country faces labour rights’ violations, and especially countries in transition. Therefore we want to help Montenegrin workers through the CITUM” said Bruni.
According to Popovic, the lawyer’s office is opened in the offices of the CITUM at the street of Novaka Miloseva 29, and the citizens can apply for lawyer’s help every working day from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
