From May 28, 75 companies registered in the Central register
From May 28 till today, 75 Montenegrin companies have been registered in the Central register of credentials, and 42 of them is from the list for mass voucher privatisation, stated representatives of the Central Depositary Agency (CDA). CDA secretary, Mirjana Soc said that all joint-stock companies from Podgorica have taken the application forms for the register, that is, 151 companies, while in other municipalities of Montenegro there are a small number of those that did not do it. ”Central Depositary Agency got the licence for work from the Commission for credentials on May 28 this year, when it began registering the companies,” said Soc. She said that companies had the first time limit until March 4 to submit all necessary documents that CDA would put in register when it officially began its work. “However, not one single company has fulfilled that obligation, which is why the Commission for credentials extended the deadline until August 31. Until that date all Montenegrin joint-stock companies would have to submit documents necessary for registering in the Central register,” said Soc. Central Depositary Agency would register and keep dematerialised credentials of all Montenegrin joint-stock companies and issue certificates on situation and alterations in those accounts. Deputy director of CDA, Miomir Jovanovic, said in June that this agency had no legal authority to influence the companies to submit the documents – it would be in competence of the Court of Law.
