Funds to start share trading in August

Funds to start share trading in August
Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) – Citizens who invested their vouchers in privatisation funds can hope that the trade in their shares would begin in August, directors of privatisation funds told a news conference on Thursday. Director of the Trend fund Mihailo Madzarevic said the funds would call shareholders assemblies in so-called investment units by May 25 and the assemblies would be held by June 21. At these shareholders assemblies the funds can transform into shareholding societies and their shareholders would be able to trade the shares on the market. "We hope that the Securities Commission would in the next few days adopt nine rules regulating the activities of privatisation funds and allow the funds# transformation," he said. Fund representatives also said trade in their shares had not been planned to begin before February next year anyway. Director of Eurofond Bojsa Sotra said the funds would inform the public on their transformation. "Our aim is that we transform into shareholding societies as soon as possible to prove to citizens that we have not cheated on them," Dragan Radusinovic of the MIG fund said. Directors of the funds said the demand for shares in Montenegro was still very weak, which reflected on their low price.
