Gjeloshaj: Complaints announced in the airport concession procedure

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister of Economic Development Nik Gjeloshaj, bidders for the concession of Montenegrin airports have announced their intention to file complaints regarding the procedure.

Gjeloshaj stated that they would wait until the end of the month for more information.

Responding to a question from Member of Parliament Danijel Zivkovic of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Gjeloshaj reminded that the Tender Commission had completed its work and forwarded the documentation to the Ministry of Transport.

The Ministry of Transport is now preparing a report on the concession process for the Government, which will decide whether to award the airports to a concessionaire or continue developing them as state-owned assets.

South Korean company Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) was selected as the top-ranked bidder, while Luxembourg-American Corporación America Airports (CAAP) was ranked second.

“The ranking lists have been published online. If no complaints are submitted, we expect the Government to make a decision in the first week after 1 August. However, if complaints are filed, the process will be delayed. In letters we received from the bidders, they indicated that complaints are likely,” Gjeloshaj explained.
