Herceg Novi (MINA-BUSINESS) - The Montenegrin government has eased financial problems to the shipyard Brodogradiliste Bijela by taking over the company#s 3.0 million U.S. dollar debt to Jugooceanija shipper from Kotor, allowing the shipyard to meet its business plan, director of the shipyard Stanko Zlokovic said on the occasion of marking the 75th anniversary of the shipyard. "We have collected a great degree of debts from both domestic and foreign companies. A year ago, the government decided to take over our debt to Jugooceanija and that will help us meet our business plan for this year," Zlokovic said. Aims of the company for this year are to increase the number of overhauled ships by 5.0 percent, raise revenue by 14.5 million euros and post a profit of 250,000 euros. In 2001, the shipyard exceeded its plan by 30 percent and had revenue of around 30 million German marks, or 67 percent more than in 2000. Average wages stood at around 540 German marks. The company has 820 workers and 6,300 shareholders.
