Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - The government of Montenegro plans to collect this year 208 million euros from various taxes, or 77 percent of all state revenues, magazine Monet of Podgorica-based Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts (ISSP) said. Tax collection was expected to grow 11 percent on 2001. The government planned for this year expenditure of 343 million euros, or 36 percent of projected gross domestic product. Total expected budget revenues stand at around 270 million euros, 17 percent more than in 2001. Sales taxes are planned to generate more than 95 million euros or seven percent more than in 2001. Personal income tax should generate some 68 million euros or 20 percent more than in 2001. Corporate tax income was planned to rise 40 percent to 8.0 million euros, based on government expectations that enterprises in Montenegro would have better business results and comply with the Corporate Tax Law. The budget deficit is expected at around 59 million euros, to take into account some debt repayments. The gap will be covered from international donations (29 million euros), privatisation receipts (24 million euros) and credits.
