Montenegrin Government proposed to the Parliament passing of the law on motorcars, vessels and aircraft tax, the enforcement of which should increase budget incomes by 5,5 million EUR, was announced by the vice president Zarko Rakcevic. "Citizens that have car will pay annual tax when registering cars according to proportional rate, and it means that they will have to pay 20 EUR for cars up to 1,1 thousand cubic centimeters. For cars that have up to 1,4 thousand cubic cm they will have to pay 30 EUR and for cars of 1,6 cubic cm 40 EUR. Tax will be higher for deluxe cars so the owner of car of up to 1,8 cubic cm will have to pay 70 EUR while for cars of up to 2,5 cubic cm it will be necessary to pay 90 EUR", said Rakcevic after today#s session of the Government. He added that owners of the cars of up to 3000 cubic cm would have to pay tax of 400 EUR. According to him the tax would not have to be paid by the owners of motorcars, vessels and aircrafts who use them for realization of financially viable activities since they would be taxed with other laws. "Economic subjects, state and public firms, firefighting, medical cars as well as cars of international organizations, electric power cars and owners of cars who are more then 50% invalids will be cleared of tax", said Rakcevic. He said that out of totally 118 thousand cars, 112 thousands would be taxed and that the money obtained that way would be used for financing of road construction and for social needs of citizens. "All the surrounding countries have similar law but their rates are much higher. This law will take effect eight days after being passed in the Parliament", claims Rakcevic. He also said that the proportional rates would be used for vessels and aircrafts and categories would be determined according to motor power, length of vehicle and state of cabin#s equipment.
