In Montenegro, only three insurance companies have working licences
Montena-business found out from the Ministry of finance that in Montenegro, only three insurance companies - "Swiss", "Montenegro" and "Lovcen osiguranje" have working licences. From November last year, the Ministry of finance issues licences only to those insurance companies that are registered and whose head office is in Montenegro, in line with the Decision of the Government that entered into force in September last year. "Of 11 insurance companies that were active in the territory of Montenegro, only 3 had a licence. Not one of the remaining eight has submitted the request to the Ministry for obtaining the working licence until November 7 last year, the last day for applying," states the Ministry. "Dunav", "SIM", "Imperijal", "Plava tacka" and "Zepter" from Belgrade, "Takovo" from Kragujevac, "Stari Grad" from Kovin and "Omnia" from Valjevo do not have working licences. Ministry of finance, as it is stated, has no information that in Montenegro there are insurance companies working without permission. "In case that some insurance company is active without permission, competent inspection services would take over the control and appropriate measures in line with the Law and other regulations," announces the Ministry of finance.
