Industrial production in January 2002 was 21 percents lower than last year#s monthly average and almost 34 percents lower than in December last year, states the Republic Institution for statistics.
According to the data presented by this institution, January production was 16 percents lower than in the same period last year and its fall was explained by lower number of working days and the fact that great number of industrial companies did not work at all during January.
In January, the production was increased only in the sector of mining, for about 53 percents in comparison with the same month last year. Processing industry had a fall in production of 5.6 percents, as well as in the sector of production of electricity, gas and water for 39.6 percents.
