Jugooceanija still without a clue whether `Kosmaj` Would Leave Port

Jugooceanija still without a clue whether `Kosmaj` Would Leave Port
Podgorica, (Montena-business) - The representatives of International Sailors# Trade Union from London and Venice will support the guarantees of the Montenegrin Government given for payment of due salaries to the crew on the #Kosmaj# ship until the middle of February, and they would suggest that the ship should head towards local Montenegrin ports. The president of Jugooceanija#s Trade Union, Mr. Petar Idrizovic is of the opinion that the crew should accept the Government#s proposal about paying them 1/3 of due salaries, which is about 85,000 Euro, after the ship sails into the Port of Bar. "The representatives of International Sailors# Trade Union, who were asked by the crew to arrest the ship, claim that the Government#s guarantees are very good, so we expect that they will suggest the #Kosmaj#s crew to leave port immediately" said Mr. Idrizovic to Montena-business. He didn#t know whether the crew of #Kosmaj# would accept the Government#s offer, stating that it would be the best solution for this ship, which was the only one of the company#s ships that was not under hypothec of foreign banks. "The decision will be known by the end of the day. We got information that half of sailors wants to sail out, and the other half still hesitates" said Mr. Idrizovic. Representatives of the Republic#s and Jugooceanija#s Trade Union signed on Friday a contract with the Prime Minister, Mr. Filip Vujanovic, about paying 1/3 of debt for salaries to the sailors on the #Kosmaj# ship, after their arrival in Montenegro, while the rest would be paid after selling oil surplus from the ship, by the middle of February. The Government, which is the main owner of Jugooceanija Company, is of the opinion that the employees should make the first step towards the agreement for prompt paying of due salaries. The company#s total debt towards the employees is more than US$ 2 million. If the International Sailors# Trade Union arrests the ship, an auction sale would be organized for the ship and there it could be sold at the price of about US$ 2,1 million, which is half of the estimated value of this ship. af
