Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - Popular support to the Montenegrin government has declined since last June and for the first time fell below 50 percent, according to the latest poll by the National Democratic Institute for International Business (NDI). The research was conducted by the Prizma pollster in the week April 11-16, on more than 1,200 persons, in 21 municipalities in Montenegro. Some 46 percent of the polled said they supported the government or seven percent less than in March. Around 54 percent believes the government can successfully complete reforms and 51 percent trusts its Master Plan for tourism; 39 percent trust the government can revive the industry and 41 percent that it can eliminate the black economy. Around 65 percent of the polled said overall economic situation, unemployment and the revival of the industry were of their priority concern. Ten percent said their main worry was the status of Montenegro as the state.
