Because of the slow passing of the Law on companies and bankruptcy, economic reforms in Montenegro could be slowed down, claims the president of Montenegrin Business Alliance MBA, Slobodan Radovic.
He said that the state and private sector had to work together on establishing and developing of mutual trust, particularly in setting up the rules of the game in business, and that foreign consultants should not be excluded, either.
“We should not forget the assistance offered by foreign consultants and it is very important for Montenegro at the moment,” added Radovic.
Director of the Centre for entrepreneurship and economic development, Petar Ivanovic, reminded that consulting company Price Waterhouse Coopers gave significant contribution to economic reforms in Montenegro.
“A number of very important laws prepared by PWHC was passed, and the most important among them is the Law on public acquisitions which has been passed unanimously,” said Ivanovic.
Ivanovic added that he was worried by the fact of slowing of economic reforms, because it meant slowing of democratisation in Montenegro.
“I hope that Barents group would have strength and skill to speed up economic reforms,” said Ivanovic.
