Minic: Tariff defined by the Law on turnover tax
The tax on cigarettes that were reported as illegal goods within the deadline set up by the Government is established by the Law on turnover tax and it would be applied in line with that regulation, said secretary of the Directorate of public income, Dragoslav Minic. He said yesterday for Montena-business that for that kind of goods the tariff would be defined later, but he wanted to correct that statement today. “Directorate of public income does not set up the amount of the taxes, so for all illegally purchased goods the taxes would be paid in line with provisions of the Law on turnover tax,” said Minic. He said that from all individuals and companies that reported illegally purchased goods would pay taxes of 15-25%, which is defined by that Law, depending on the kind of the goods. “Confiscated cigarettes that are in put in storage would be marked with a special stamp and they would be sold to legal subjects,” said Minic.
