Montenegrins most worried about unemployment
Unemployment is the most significant economic issue for the majority of Montenegrin citizens, that is, for 30% of pollees of the poll published today by the National Democratic Institute for international activities (NDI). The survey, done from June 25 - 30, which is the continuance of the poll that began in the middle of March and beginning of April, shows that economic issues are still of greatest interest for Montenegrin citizens. In this poll participated 1,281 pollee, and interviews, done by "Prizma survey", were done in 21 Montenegrin municipality. The percentage of those who thought unemployment was the most important issue, when compared with the results from April, was increased for 4%, while 18% of pollees put the issue of trade on the first place. Privatization was seen as the most important issue by 11% of pollees, which is 2% less than in April. Wages and pensions are the most important economic issue for 11% of pollees. Development of companies and corruption are the most important issues for 10% of citizens, banks for 5% and agriculture for 4%. Eighty percent of citizens declared themselves for the referendum on state-legal status of Montenegro, but that result is for 9% lower than in March this year. Independence was supported by 43% of citizens, which represented the fall of 7% in comparison with the April survey. The latest results showed that the increase of support of unitary state was 6%. If the elections were in June, 57% of citizens would vote for the coalition "The victory is of Montenegro", 49% for the coalition "Together for Yugoslavia", 13% for the Liberal Alliance and 2% of citizens for People#s Socialistic Party. The variance rate on the sample of 1,200 pollees is ± 3%, stated NDI.
