More than 163,000 tourists visited Montenegro in August, which is 37.7% more than in the same period last year. There were more than 30,000 foreign guests, which is 69.6% more, local tourists about 132,000, which is 31.9% more than a year before in the same month. Total number of tourist days was 34.4% higher in August this year than in last year, and of that number 29.8% more was realized by local and 60.4% by foreign guests. For the first eight months of this year Montenegro was visited by 25.1% of tourists more than in the same period last year, and the number of guest was about 458,000. In the period January – August, there were 20.5% more of local guests, and 49.6% more of foreign guests, states the Institution for statistics. The total number of tourist days in the same period was 28.6% higher, of which number there were 24.3% more of local guests and 56.1% more of foreign guests. The greatest number of tourist days in August was registered in coastal municipalities, that is, in Budva – more than 458,000, Herceg Novi about 288,000 and Bar – more than 177,000.
