National inspection agency will be established in Montenegro in two years at least. It will be in charge of supervising legality and regularity of public finances, was announced by Dejan Bajic, Montenegrin Prime minister#s advisor for economic relations with abroad.
"This instituion the name of which is to be defined later on will control functioning, efficiency and economy of public finances and 1,5 million EUR for its constitution has been provided by German Government by mid of last year", said Bajic for Montena-business.
According to him, German Government assigned this money to its agency for technical help (GTZ) the expert of which had already visited Montenegro on two occasions.
"GTZ representative arrived in Podgorica on Tuesday and he intends, together with a working group we formed, to make a working plan of this project. The working group should discuss the ways of functioning on the national agency and to prepare a legal frame for its establishment", stated Bajic.
He explained that there were no legal solutions and regulations in Montenegro that could support foundation of this agency but that the working group would, in cooperation with German experts, in two years time find possibility to realize this project.
Bajic claims that the national inspection agency would be an independent institution that would in a way control work of the government on behalf of Montenegrin Parliament.
"Due to such important role we have insisted representatives of the parliament to be members of the working group that would in two months leave for Germany in order to have consultations with GTZ experts regarding continuation of work on the project", said Bajic.
He estimated that this long-term project was just in starting phase since the legal solutions had not still been defined, and what would follow was foundation of Agency and training of personnel.
