In Montenegro there are 230,000 employed, while there are about 55,000 unemployed – these are the results of the survey published in the latest issue of the magazine “Monet”.
According to the survey of the workforce in Montenegro, displaced persons not included, 285,000 people is capable for work, that is, 43%, and about 55,000 of them are unemployed, or 19% of those who try to find a job and who do not receive wages.
Of the total number of 230,000 or 81% of employed people, 182,000 are those who earn their wages working in the companies on formal or oral contracts, paying or not paying social insurance.
Of that number, 13, 000 or 6% are farmers who earn from agriculture only, 10,000 of those who work for a member of their family for or without wages. Street sellers and those employed at home are 1,000, and 25,000 is active less than 15 hours a day.
Only 41% of adult persons see themselves as employed, which means that 180,000 people work in the Republic. That figure does not correspond to the official statistics, which recorded 114,000 employed persons, and companies with less then 5 employees, those who work in the sector of black economy, army and police forces are not included in that number.
About 187,000 or 28% of the population is inactive, and of that number 77,000 receives pensions and scholarships, states the survey in the magazine “Monet”.
