Palmer: Joint market is necessary
Montenegro and Serbia must integrate all their potentials in order to form the joint market, and it is also necessary to adjust their economic systems, regardless of whether they are in a joint state or not, said the analyst of the International Crisis Group, Peter Palmer. Palmer said that the Agreement on redefinition of relations between Serbia and Montenegro preserved all economic reforms realized in Montenegro that would not be regressed. Palmer said there was a great number of reforms that Montenegro was yet to implement, and he said he hoped that every future Government would make serious effort in prompting their implementation. "The truth is that many economic interests of Serbia and Montenegro do not match, but Serbia would now surely enter the reforms more intensively. Montenegro must follow the tempo of the process of reforms in Serbia," said Palmer for Mina-business. He said that Serbia and Montenegro could not have the same position in the federation even after signing of the agreement, and it is not real to expect something like that, since Serbia is significantly bigger, which enables its greater influence in the joint state.
