Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - Chairman of the Alliance of independent trade unions of Montenegro Danilo Popovic wants to ask Prime Minister Filip Vujanovic to meet organisers of the protesting workers again this week in an attempt to end the general strike among teachers. Teachers, on strike since January 9, demand higher wages and a special fund to finance apartments for those employed in the education sector. The government has so far agreed to set up the fund to finance apartments and to pay all wage arrears but failed to approve a 30 percent wage increase.
