Power company faces financial problems
Niksic (MINA-BUSINESS) - Montenegrin Power Company Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) said on Friday it would not be able to secure stable electricity supplies without the assistance of the state and international donations. The company#s managing board said in a statement the financial situation was very grave and that since the beginning of the year expenditure exceeded plan by far because of electricity imports, repayments of debts accumulated in 2001 and a price increase of coal. Due to low water levels, electricity imports would be higher than expected and a lack of coal in the power plant Pljevlja would additionally aggravate the situation because of delayed overhauls in the coal mine, it said.
