President’s office: Krusevac castle is a protected cultural asset and cannot be alienated

 

Podgorica, (MINA) – Krusevac castle is protected as an immovable cultural asset owned by the state and a subject to a special regime of legal protection which prohibits its alieneation, the Office of the President Jakov Milatovic announced.

 

The President’s Office forwarded to the media an excerpt from a decision they received from the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Property, which, as stated, unequivocally confirms that Krusevac Castle is protected as an immovable cultural asset.

 

“The property in question enjoys the status of a cultural asset based on the Decision on placing it under protection number 1230 of 27 November 1957, the Decision on Entry into the Register number 01-1106/1-61 of 04 September 1961 and the Decision on entry into the Central Register number 02-502 of 05 August 1993”, the press release states.

 

Milatovic’s Office recalled that the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Status of Descendants of the Petrovic Njegos Dynasty had been returned to Parliament for reconsideration, pointing out the need for an additionally review of the proposed solution from the point of view of its compatibility with the Constitution of Montenegro and existing legislation.
