Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Alliance of Independent Trade Unions of Montenegro called on its members and trade union organisations on Monday to join protests on May 1 over a new Labour Law, which reduces the rights of workers in the case of losing the job and scraps collective agreements. The trade union said in a statement that the Labour Ministry had prepared a draft law without consulting the workers and qualified the move as "only the latest in a series of examples showing the annulment of social partnership and dialogue in Montenegro." "The trade union will not allow that the workers pay the price of incompetence and corruption in Montenegro," the statement said.
