Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - The Public Works Directorate (DJR) said the value of public works in12 Montenegrin municipalities in 2001 was 11.8 million euros. According to DJR statistics, public works were not carried in nine municipalities in the republic. Most of the money, or two fifths of the amount, was spent on the municipalities of Kolasin and Cetinje and 12 percent each on Podgorica and Niksic. The European Union earmarked 2.9 million euros for the Union bridge in Podgorica, and the European Agency for Reconstruction spent 2.5 million euros on the reconstruction of the Podgorica-Bar road. With the help of the German government and its KfW agency, 1.8 million euros were set aside on the works on the Rozaje-Kula road, 2.3 million euros on the Lokve tunnel on the Berane-Rozaje road and 1.02 million euros on a big Rogov Krs landslide. The European Agency for Reconstruction co-financed works on the roads in southern and central parts of the republic. The Montenegrin budget ensured 2.4 million euros for the maintenance of the main roads and more than 3.0 million euros for road infrastructure investments came from the petrol price.
