Sales tax on computers 3 percents till July 1

Sales tax on computers 3 percents till July 1
The Government of Montenegro has passed today the Regulation on reduction of the sales tax on computers and accessories for natural persons from 24 to 3 percents, which would be in force until July 1, 2002. Secretary of the Secretariat for development, Dusan Simonovic, says that the Regulation also removed the special tax on purchase of computers of four percents, which has been calculated within the total amount. The Government proclaimed the last year as the Year of informatics culture, which is why the tax of 24 percents was reduced to three. Since the Regulation on reduction of tax had been passed in June, it was used for only six months. Companies in sale of computers and accessories requested at the beginning of the year to prolong the validity of the Regulation until July 1, when the Law on value-added tax would enter into force. Simonovic said that the Government decided that the Secretariat for development should continue the activities envisaged in the Year of informatics culture, since their beginning last year was late.
