Securities Commission rejects new bylaw and operating regulations

Securities Commission rejects new bylaw and operating regulations
Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - The Securities Commission (SEC) refused to adopt on Friday a new bylaw and operating regulations of the body and a proposal of a new price list for the Central Depository Agency (CDA), proposed by Chairman Slobodan Lakic. The bylaw and operating regulations had been rejected on the grounds that they had been Lakic#s self-initiative. The CDA price list was rejected because this institution had not accepted the commission#s proposal to reduce some prices. The CDA proposed to charge brokers for transactions concluded outside the stock exchange and for issuing a book of shares at shareholders# request. "These CDA services need to be free of charge and it needs to rationalise its costs," Zoran Djikanovic, a vice-chairman of the securities commission said. Assistant CDA director Miodrag Jovanovic told Mina-business on Thursday that the agency was no charity institution and that it had to charge for its services.
