Podgorica (MINA-BUSINESS) - The Alliance of Independent Trade Unions of Montenegro will probably organise a general strike over the draft labour law which the government submitted for debate to the republican parliament, secretary of the alliance Budimir Sljivancanin said. He told Mina-business that he expected many people to take part in the strike if it were organised. The trade unions complained that the government had never consulted them on the draft labour law and that the document significantly reduces workers# rights, cuts redundancy payments and offers little protection to redundant workers. According to the International Labour Organisation#s standards, sacked or redundant workers are entitled to at least one average salary per each year of service, or at least to a half of that amount, Sljivancanin said.
