Slovenians most inclined to Croatia, but to Montenegro as well
Croatian tourist resorts remain this summer the most wanted destination of Slovenian tourists, but interest of Slovenians for summer holidays in Montenegro is growing, states Slovenian newspaper agency (STA). Information of the Croatian tourist organization states that in July, Slovenians have realized 2 million tourist days in Croatian Adriatic coast, which is 10% more than last year and thus took the second place, behind Germans that realized 1.7 million tourist days. Two largest Slovenian tourist agencies, Kompas and Emona Globtour, state that the greatest innovation of this summer season was growing interest for destinations in Montenegro and move of Slovenian guests from Croatian hotels into private apartments. Tourist agency Kompas states that the greatest interest was expressed for tourist destinations in Croatia and Mediterranean, but in comparison with the last year, the greatest increase, 100% was interest for Montenegro. Vice-president of the management of Kompas stated this information for STA. Dimitrije Piciga, from Emona Globtour tourist agency said that Istria, Dalmatia and islands are the most interesting destinations. He said that interest for Croatia was not varying in the last few years, while the number of Slovenians interested in travelling throughout Mediterranean and destinations such as Sicily, Turkey and Greek islands of Rhodos and Crete was increasing.
